Doubling Down

(Published on 5. June 2023, 17:59 by antiknight)

I think the combination of arrows and doublers can be explored more to produce original logic. I created this puzzle with that in mind, and I think I ended up with some neat logic. Leave a comment if you enjoy the puzzle or have any feedback!

Rules:
1) Normal Sudoku rules apply:
Place the digits 1-9 into each cell of the grid. None of the rows, columns or boldly outlined 3x3 boxes contain repeated digits.

2) Standard Arrows rules apply:
The digits along each arrow must sum to the digit in the circled cell. Digits may repeat along an arrow if permitted by other rules.

3) Doublers Rules apply:
Nine cells in the grid (one per row, column, and box) are Doublers, which count as double their value on arrows. Each digit appears in exactly one Doubler. Doublers aren't necessarily on arrows. The value of the Doubler is counted if it appears on a one cell arrow. For example , if R7C7 Or R8C6 is a 2 and a Doubler then the other part of the 1-cell arrow is a 4.

This took me several attempts, as kept breaking it at the same point till I finally realised the option I was incorrectly eliminating

- I'm glad you were able to finish it and I hope you've enjoyed the puzzle.

Wirklich originelle Logik und dabei ganz schön knifflig. Die Doubler bringen eine neue Dimension mit ins Spiel. Cool!
