Toasted Sandwich (Sums next to 1 and 9 sudoku)

This puzzle was created during a live stream on YouTube by Memeristor (purpl) and me. It also includes clues suggested by YouTube chat.
Inspiration for this ruleset comes from both Richard Stolk and Lucy Audrin.
- Sudoku: Each row, column, and region indicated by thick borders in the grid must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each.
- Sums next to 1 and 9: Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of all direct (one or two) neighbours of the 1 and the 9 in the corresponding row or column, in order of appearance. '?' clues represent unknown integer sums. (The emoji is just for fun.)

Solution code: Columns 8 and 9. I.e. the 9 digits in column 8 from top to bottom, followed by the 9 digits in column 9 from top to bottom, for example: 123456789123456789

Very nice; flows beautifully. I was lost at first until i realized that ? did not mean a restriction to a single digit integer sum

Had more trouble on the finishing line than at the start. That was a fun solve. :)

Very interesting idea and a fun puzzle overall! Every major stage wasn't so trivial but they also exploited the ruleset in a neat way :)
