Squares in Squares

(Published on 28. May 2023, 16:17 by Torvelo)

Normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply.

Divide the grid into square-shaped regions so that every cell is part of some region and the regions don't overlap. The sum of the digits in each region must be a square number (1, 4, 9...). Digits may not repeat in a region.

A cell marked with a circle (excluding the thermometer bulb) must contain an odd digit, and a square-marked cell must contain an even digit. The cells separated by a "v" must add up to exactly 5. Along the thermometer digits must increase from the bulb.

Solution code:

The digits in column 1, top to bottom, followed by the digits in row 3, left to right.
