Wrogn Fogn

(Published on 21. May 2023, 18:48 by jwsinclair)

Normal sudoku rules apply. All clues are standard, and all clues are wrong. Enter wrong digits correctly to clear the fog. A clue is wrong if it is not 100% correct.

Specifically:
Clues outside the grid must not give the sum of the digits along the indicated diagonal.
Digits within a cage must not be a non-repeating set of digits that sum to the number in the corner (if given).
Digits on arrows must not sum to the number in the connected circle (each arrow is a separate clue, even if multiple arrows share the same circle).
On thermometers, digits must not increase from the bulb to the tip.
Along green lines, at least one pair of adjacent digits must not differ by at least 5.
Along orange lines, at least one pair of adjacent digits must not differ by at least 4.
The four cells surrounding a (larger) white circle must not contain each of the digits inside that circle.
Digits in cells with a shaded circle must not be odd.
Digits in cells separated by a V must not sum to 5.
Digits in cells separated by an X must not sum to 10.
Digits in cells separated by a (smaller) white dot must not be consecutive.
Digits in cells separated by a black dot must not have a 1:2 ratio.

I absolutely love the 'tenson' of the dutch whispers line. I've never seen a puzzle do something like that with such aesthetic and panache before! Truly brilliant and an excellent use of fog.

Great puzzle! Especially with the fog, it is easy to confuse odd (or not odd) circles with thermometer bulbs.

I absolutely loved this sudoku. Loads of fun. And quite a teaser with these wrong clues. Thank you!

Lovely, I enjoyed this very much. My first three star solve! (Altough I think it's easier than a few 2 stars ones I did)
Thanks for the puzzle, jwsinclair!

I kept overlooking some of the clues, they are all there though. :)

Really love this puzzle. It's a very approachable wrogn sudoku, the fog really helps keep the attention on the right spot to find the next digit, so I was never stuck for too long. Very fun!

What a funny puzzle ! So many useless clues :p Each time a new clue was revealed, I thought, "Oh no, not a useless clue again !", and then, "Oh, that one is helful, btw..."
A good laugh for a great puzzle ! Thanks :)

I decided to make this my first wrogn and i struggled a lot at the beginning for some reason. And then i got stuck in a spot where sudoku was the solution to progress -_- nevertheless, even though i spent most of my morning on this, i ultimately really enjoyed it!!! Thank you so much James :)

I don't think the comedy potential of fog puzzles has been explored before. Lovely stuff.

This is one of the most hilarious puzzles I've solved on this site (lol)
I like how the parts towards the ending were done x)

(also one needs to read the rules of the green and orange lines carefully, the 'at least' part is important)

Very fun and beautiful puzzle, thank you!
I always wonder how one can set a puzzle with such weird constraints with a unique solution.

Thanks! I do feel like I cheated a bit in this one, by using odd circles and two-cell thermos, which are essentially normal clues, just reversed (I didn't use any clues like that in Wrogn Answers Only). But hopefully the added element of the fog makes up for that shortcut :)

With a little discipline and focus, this is a very approachable wrogn puzzle. I found the useless wrogn clues quite distracting and maddening, yet also satisfying. Discovering and watching how the end would disambiguate was fantastic. Great puzzle, thanks!
