A Sum-ptuous Sudoku

(Published on 10. May 2023, 01:46 by Wino)

Normal sudoku rules apply (there must be numbers 1-9 in each row, column and 3x3 box).

Each row and column is its own mathematical equation, with 7 'mini calculations'. The order of operations is from left to right for rows, top to bottom for columns. So ignore BIDMAS operations, just follow what comes first. The puzzle reads in such a way where after each 'mini calculation' the answer at each point will always be a natural number / positive integer (a whole number which is greater than zero, i.e. 1,3,7,24,95)

For example, if the first row started with '8 - 3 x 2 + 7', you would do 8 - 3 first (which equals 5, a positive integer), then multiplying 5 x 2 = 10, and finally 10 + 7 = 17. If the first row had a number missing in front of the ' - 3 x 2 + 7', you could deduce that the number in front of the '-' sign would not be 1 as if it was, the first 'mini calculation' would be 1 - 3 = -2, and -2 is negative.

This is the first sudoku I have made and uploaded here, I hope you enjoy it!

Solution code: List the numbers in column two, going from top to bottom.

This puzzle is this nerd's dream. I'm going to print this out and noodle on it. Wonderful premise and looks to be incredibly enjoyable. Hopefully I'll be among those who can call themselves a solver soon.
