The Sum Of The Parts (A Near-Perfect Miracle)

(Published on 23. April 2023, 22:45 by Pulsar)

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply. Shade nine cells in the grid such that there is one shaded cell in each row and column (boxes can contain any number of shaded cells, including none).

For each shaded cell, the first digits in its row and column give the position of that cell in its row and column, and the last digits in its row and column must sum to twice the position of the shaded cell within its box (example: R6C5 has position 5 in its row, position 6 in its column, and position 8 in normal reading order in its box. If this cell is shaded, then R6C1 is a 5, R1C5 is a 6, and R9C5 + R6C9 = 16).

Digits separated by a king's move must be different, except on the grey palindrome line.

Hello everyone, I am pleased to present you my very first sudoku. It is inspired by Phistomefel's Ancient Wall and the Easter Miracle sudoku by Farkov and TopAutism.

Fair warning: this puzzle is not easy! Good luck!

Cheers. It's a tough one, isn't it? I have a solution guide, but some of the steps are by no means straightforward.

Absolutely brilliant puzzle and wicked hard for me. I discovered some nice logic around the border, but had to resort to some bifurcation in a few spots to complete the border. Maybe I missed some simpler logic? After completing the border, the remainder of the puzzle is quite enjoyable.
I would be interested to know if there is a cleaner way to solve the border.
