Lines in the Sand

(Published on 26. April 2023, 05:00 by Will Power)

Normal Sudoku rules apply. GERMAN WHISPERS- Numbers on green lines are at least 5 apart from their neighbors on the line. Numbers may repeat on green lines. DUTCH WHISPERS+ LINES- Numbers on red lines are either 4 or 5 apart from their neighbors on the line. Red lines each have at least one pair of neighbors that are 4 apart. Numbers do not repeat on red lines. Numbers on blue lines have the same remainder when divided by 3 (N mod 3 = 0, 1 or 2 for the line). RENBAN+ Line- Numbers on the purple line are CONSECUTIVE with their neighbors on the line. Numbers with a black dot between them are in a ratio of 2:1. Not all possible dots are given.

Wow. Read the rules, kids. I did not see the additional "+" rules, and thought they were normal Dutch and Renban lines. This took an hour of "how the hell is this 1*".

Fun puzzle!

Can you help the colorblind differentiate the blue and the purple? I presume the blue lines are all the diagonal 3-number lines and the purple is the one in box 8 (mostly)?
----
Nevermind, I figured it out.

@PinkNickels- In case others with colorblindness follow: Yes, The purple is the horizontal line from box 7 to box 9. Blue lines are all sloping down from left to right. Thanks for playing. -Will Power

@PinkNickels I have seen YouTube videos of people who invested in a pair of glasses that can give people with colorblindness a better sense of color as others see color. There are varied types for the varied forms of colorblindness. I think they are about 90 US Dollars. Peace to you and happy solving! -Will Power

Thanks, WP. Might be the item on the Christmas list for this year. Cheers, and, as always, really appreciate the frequency at which you post. If you ever wonder if it is appreciated, please know it 100% is.

the last bit on box 1 was a bit tough, but great overall.

@scottgarner Thank you so much for your shout outs on several of my puzzles you have streamed and tackled. Keep up the fight. 8-) I just found your streaming site on You Tube yesterday. P.S. You are correct that I wanted the red line to be so much more, but had to give up on it after a week. You know which red line I mean. (not this puzzle) 8-) Peace to you. -Will Power

Nice one. Gets easier after actually reading the rules.

Like others, I got stuck because I didn't understand the rules clearly enough. Thank you Will Power for another fun puzzle.

A great puzzle. I missed the additional constraint for the renban line so I was stuck for a bit. It always helps to read the rules :)

Do all numbers on blue lines have the same remainder? Or can it be different for each line?

@asp1310 Numbers on each blue line must have the same remainder for all numbers on that line. Different lines may have different remainders. -Will Power

I really enjoyed this one with all kinds of clues to help you from getting stuck.

That being said, for the very same reason I feel like this was by far the easies 2/5 puzzle I've done. There are maybe a bit more clue types than a GAS would have, but for anyone familiar with them this is very easy.

Obviously that is not a problem and it was very fun to solve.

The flow was very smooth, constraints easy enough to understand too

I didn't look to see who made this puzzle but I did when I finished it and was not surprised to find out it was a Will Power puzzle. I love them. Keep up the great work.
