Breaking into this puzzle was a bit of a slog but a good slog. I'd be interested in seeing someone manage a more efficient solve.

Thinking about the low digits helps a lot.

Working through some old Marty puzzles, loved this! :) Took me longer than itt should have though!

I came back to this after trying before. The comments helped. Definitely not a 1 star puzzle. It took some thinking and "if this, then that" and why does it break.

Thanks for an enjoyable puzzle. Thanks also for only requiring 9 digits to verify the solve!

I found this puzzle a bit challenging and am surprised that it's not at least 2 stars. Maybe I was missing something because I don't see the "linear" path that others are talking about (then again, I have NO CLUE what "Goodliffe" means or "GAS" that VitP talks about, so perhaps it's just my experience level...)
Edit: Oh, Mark Goodliffe. I only watch Simon's videos on Cracking the Cryptic, but I assume "to Goodliffe" means to pencil mark 5+ numbers in a cell.

Hehe yes it does. I actually set this at 3 stars to begin with. Based on people's ratings it has gone down to 1 star difficulty, which I'm quite surprised about myself to be honest.

Very easy - almost a GAS.
VERY linear solve path - if you apply the two principles of easy puzzles
1) DO NOT Goodliffe (unless you are THE Goodliffe)
2) ALWAYS pick the easiest fruit.
Otherwise, the linearity disappears - but that's because easy puzzles allow progress everywhere.

Thank you for this nice puzzle, marty_sears! The solve path was not obvious, but felt very fair and was really enjoyable.
