If you've solved a huge number of three-cell arrow puzzles and know their tricks like the back of your hand, this puzzle really is just one star difficulty.

But I can see why some solvers may find it more challenging! This puzzle can teach you valuable techniques applicable to many other variant sudokus

A lovely flow, developing high and low numbers in parallel - very enjoyable.

If this is a 1 star puzzle then my name's Engelbert Humperdinck

Marty: It is a 1 star puzzle, in that 279 people have on average voted it to be 1 star haha. I originally set it as 2 stars personally

Clementi: I finally got there, but sheesh that wasn't easy. I think we're being pranked by the people voting 1 star. I've seen plenty of 3 star puzzles easier than this one.

Breaking into this puzzle was a bit of a slog but a good slog. I'd be interested in seeing someone manage a more efficient solve.

Thinking about the low digits helps a lot.

Working through some old Marty puzzles, loved this! :) Took me longer than itt should have though!

I came back to this after trying before. The comments helped. Definitely not a 1 star puzzle. It took some thinking and "if this, then that" and why does it break.

Thanks for an enjoyable puzzle. Thanks also for only requiring 9 digits to verify the solve!

I found this puzzle a bit challenging and am surprised that it's not at least 2 stars. Maybe I was missing something because I don't see the "linear" path that others are talking about (then again, I have NO CLUE what "Goodliffe" means or "GAS" that VitP talks about, so perhaps it's just my experience level...)

Edit: Oh, Mark Goodliffe. I only watch Simon's videos on Cracking the Cryptic, but I assume "to Goodliffe" means to pencil mark 5+ numbers in a cell.

Hehe yes it does. I actually set this at 3 stars to begin with. Based on people's ratings it has gone down to 1 star difficulty, which I'm quite surprised about myself to be honest.

Definitely enjoyable. Definitely approachable. Thank you.

Very easy - almost a GAS.
VERY linear solve path - if you apply the two principles of easy puzzles
1) DO NOT Goodliffe (unless you are THE Goodliffe)
2) ALWAYS pick the easiest fruit.
Otherwise, the linearity disappears - but that's because easy puzzles allow progress everywhere.
