- Normal irregular 8x8 Sudoku rules apply, i.e. each row, column and region has to contain the digits from 1 to 8.
- Thermometer: Along a thermometer digits strictly increase from the bulb end.
- Palindrome: The digits on the gray line form a palindrome, i.e. they read the same forward and backward.
- Dots: Digits joined by a black dot have a 1:2 ratio. (Not all dots are given.)
Here you can solve the puzzle online:
Solution code: Row 1 followed by Row 8, from left to right (16 digits in total)

Thank you for this great puzzle, dear sujoyku! To be honest, I don't see the one star, I found this puzzle a very hard nut to crack before I broke in.

Thank your for your comment, Lenivaya_Joppa! I am glad that you enjoyed the puzzle. Concerning difficulty: I think this is a case where it really depends whether you quickly spot what to look for. There is a certain relation between the palindromes that is helping a lot with the break-in. But I do agree that there are still some non-obvious deductions to make after that.
Kind regards, sujoyku

Took a while to find the break-in point... then to realize that with some symmetry I could also look at other side!

Thank you for the comment, faltenin! The break-in is not immediately obvious, but quite rewarding once you have it. I hope you had a joyful solve.

The constraints all interact in interesting ways. Thanks for the JOYful puzzle.

Thank you for your comment, anyeyeball! At the heart of the puzzle (from my perspective as a setter) were the thermometers, the palindrome and the shape of the regions.
It is nice to hear that you liked their interactions and that you had a joyful solve.
Kind regards, sujoyku

What is the smartest tool? A thermometer because it has so many degrees. I thought I'd finally gotten my dream career making thermometers. Turns out it was just a temp job. What is a duck's favorite snack? Cheese and quackers.
Thanks for the fun puzzle.
