Hello!
This is my fifth Sudoku Puzzle. It is called Tetris meets Yin-Yang. In this puzzle, I combined Yin-Yang rules with Tetris-like shapes that build up German Whisper lines. For clarification of the rules, please have a look at the examples below.
Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply.
- Shade some cells in the grid so that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected and all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected. No 2x2 area can be fully shaded or unshaded.
- The numbers in the top left corner of each blue cage (i.e. 3x3 box) indicate the sum of all possible rectangles that can be formed out of the connected shaded cells. The solver must identify the shape/location of the shaded cells for each box so that the rectangle sums are met. Numbers separated by a “+” indicate that there are two locally unconnected shaded regions within that cage (two different rectangle sums). -> Examples (1), (2), (3)
- Adjacent digits within shaded cells in each 3x3 box differ by at least 5 (German Whisper Lines). Adjacent digits within shaded cells do not have to differ by at least 5 across 3x3 box boundaries. -> Example (4)
- Cells linked with a white dot contain consecutive digits. Cells linked with a black dot contain digits with a 1:2 ratio. Not all possible dots are given.
- The digit in row 5 column 9 (i.e. the given digit 7) is shaded.

Solve it with Sudoku Pad (CTC).

Examples:
(1) The 7 clue indicates that there are 7 rectangles in the 3x3 box that can be made up using shaded cells. This precondition is for example fulfilled if the shaded cells have the shown arrangement: The first 4 rectangles correspond to the 4 shaded cells. Rectangles 5, 6 and 7 are obtained by combining two adjacent shaded cells.
_________________________________________________________
(2) The 6 clue indicates that there are 6 rectangles in the 3x3 box that can be made up using shaded cells. This precondition is for example fulfilled if the shaded cells have the shown arrangement: The first 3 rectangles correspond to the 3 individual shaded cells. Rectangles 4 and 5 are obtained by combining two adjacent shaded cells. Rectangle 6 is obtained by combining the three adjacent shaded cells.
_________________________________________________________
(3) The 1+3 clue indicates that there are two shaded regions in the 3x3 box which are not connected (at least in this box). Using the cells of both regions a total of 4 rectangels can be created. This precondition is for example fulfilled if the shaded cells have the shown arrangement: The first rectangle is created using a single cell. The other 3 rectangles are created using the 2 cells of the second region (both individual cells and a combination of both adjacent cells).

(4) The digits in the shaded area in each box follow German Whisper rules. German Whisper rules are not compulsory at the box boundary (between 7 and 9).

Good luck! :)

That was truly great! I thought it had a really nice flow; it took me a long time but I never felt stuck anywhere. Small deduction after small deduction, it felt like a journey of discovery. Really nice setting!

Wow that was fiendishly difficult, but extremely rewarding. Well done in creating such a brilliant puzzle.

Sorry, I think I accidentally deleted a comment asking for some additional explanations while I wanted to answer it!
