Modern Wall

(Published on 29. March 2023, 19:00 by XeonRisq)

Very similar to Phistomefel's Ancient Wall puzzle, but whether the same or different set is counted depends on whether the clue is a circle or a square.
This was changed a few times and tested thoroughly, and the final version has some pretty interesting logic within.
Please do give it a try and hope you enjoy the journey.
  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Divide the grid into two sets of orthogonally contiguous cells.
  • The two cells with a small star in the top right corner must be from different sets.
  • Squares: Digits in a square cell indicates the number of cells in the corresponding row and column combined that are in the same set, including itself.
  • Circles: Digits in a circle cell indicates the number of cells in the corresponding row and column combined that are in the other set.
  • Not necessarily all squares/circles have been given.

Thanks polar, this thing went through many versions and a couple of rule changes until I settled on this one and I rather preferred how this one opened and wrapped up. Glad you enjoyed it as well!!
