Normal sudoku rules apply.
Pawns (3, 4 or 5) must not see a king diagonally in front of them.
Bishops (2 or 6) must see at least one king or queen.
Knights (1 or 7) must see at least one king or queen.
Queens (8) must see at least one of each of the following: a bishop, a knight, and a king.
A king (9) must not be adjacent to another king.
Apart from knights, pieces cannot see past another piece.
The arrows are a Find a Pawn clue: the digit in the cell indicates how many cells up a pawn is.

Really cool novel idea. I enjoyed testsolving it and I can attest that it has a human solve path, but it may be challenging to find!
