Not sure what laky saw that I didn't, but this is certainly the most brutal puzzle that I've solved in a while. Gonna have nightmares for several weeks now ...

This was a hard nut for me in the middle of the solve. I used couple of small bifurcations to remove key candidates and then it was smooth.

Sorry you didn't find the intended path! There is a way through but it's quite tricky. I may write up a solution guide for this one.
