Nurikiller

(Published on 21. March 2023, 05:31 by mathpesto)

Rules:

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. No 2x2 region may be entirely shaded. Circles and killer clues cannot be shaded, and each orthogonally connected area of unshaded cells contains exactly one of each clue type. Digits may not repeat within an orthogonally connected area of unshaded cells, and they sum to the killer clue. A digit in a circle equals the size of that area. (Note: Unshaded regions may not touch each other orthogonally.)

Solve:

Solution code: Column 9 (9 digits, top to bottom, no spaces)

I smiled when I read the rules, because it felt that you intently avoided to use the words nurikabe or island in there ! Very fun puzzle ! Thanks.

can i assume every unshaded area has a killer clue?

--------

picoton: Yes, "exactly one of each clue type" refers to one circle and one killer. -Math Pesto
