Was it a car or...?

...a cat I saw?
A palindrome is the order of the day today!
Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- The grey line is a palindrome, which reads the same in both directions.
- Cells separated by white dots are consecutive in value. Not all white dots are given.

Inspiration:
This well-known palindrome about a car and a cat had me trawling through Google images for "pixelated cats" in the
attempt to draw a cat onto the sudoku grid. My first cat was actually not too bad, but the puzzle broke immediately. I made a couple of tweaks (tail pointing upwards and camel hump added!) and was able to solve the puzzle in one go - unbelievable! On my second review though, I realised I had made an assumption near the start and the final solution had a couple of unresolved X-wings, so I needed to go back to the drawing board! After a couple more carefully placed digits, and Kropki dots, it all fell into place. I got lucky that I managed to create a unique and solvable puzzle this way, but I think it has turned out to be a rather nice puzzle - even if I do say so myself! I hope you enjoy solving it.
Please leave feedback; it's always nice to read the comments.

Thank you Chelo! I know what you mean about the colours. Mine was beginning to look more like a stained glass window than a sudoku puzzle! I figured that using letters made it easier in the end.
