Knights of the Round Table
(Published on 17. February 2023, 19:11 by BenTen)
This puzzle combines sudoku with some word play. If you enjoy Wordle then this one is definitely for you!
The word puzzle is geared towards the English speaker, but you are able to complete the sudoku part without any word logic.
Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- In cages, digits must sum to the small clue in the top left corner of the cage.
- The sums of the five digits that the two pink lines run through are equal.
- Six roman numerals represent six different digits.
- Each numeral that is given shows ALL instances where their respective digits are separated by a knight’s move in chess. (Note, the three remaining digits not represented by a roman numeral do not have any knight’s move restrictions).
Word puzzle:
- Once the grid is completed there is an additional word puzzle. (The standard sudoku grid can be completed without using word logic).
- Each digit 1 to 9 represents a different letter, which you must work out.
- The pink and yellow lines form four English 5-letter words (reading left to right from one end of the line to the other).
- To start you off, 1 = A, 2 = B and 3 = C, but then you are on your own, (and this apparent sequence does not continue!)
- Once all the letters are identified something will reveal itself on Row 5.

Beautiful puzzle! The sudoku was astonishing and the word puzzle was a very nice treat at the end. :)

Thanks again TJReds! I think this is my favourite puzzle creation to date. I love the knights move restriction and the logic that comes with it.
