Renban V-ban

(Published on 7. February 2023, 14:58 by zetamath)

Normal sudoku rules apply. The digit in the square is even.

The lines in the grid are renban. The lines must contain a string of consecutive digits without repeats, but the order does not matter. For example, a length 4 line could contain 4756.

Anti-V: No pair of orthogonally adjacent cells in the grid can sum to 5. (To clarify, summing to 10 is okay!)

This is great arrangement. The moment I understand what's happening in top boxes I was in another world.

Is there supposed to be a "digits in gray squares are even" rule?

Edit: Seems so, but only CTC link includes it and not puzzle page

I loved the geometry in this one! Also fun as always to see conspiracy theories in the LMD comments XD

@Farkov:

The odds are also quite high if the setter asked them to submit their solutions to make sure the solution code wasn't bungled up on posting :)

@Perladel & KNT

Yeah, and they somehow knew the minute he was about to post it...what are the odds? :)

on 7. February 2023, 16:58 by KNT
@Farkov: they very likely tested the puzzle before it was posted.

@Farkov
Those "early solvers" were people who tested the puzzle before being published (zetamath does this frequently in his Discord group). So they already had the solve

Wait, what?

This puzzle dropped at 14:58 and had a solver and a comment by 15:01??

And had *two* solvers and *two* comments by 15:06??

Am I missing something?

I loved the use of the anti-V on this puzzle! Some tricky spots in the beginning but the puzzle flows beautifully!

Great puzzle! There's some cool and tricky steps in this one, and the negative constraint is used really well. I'm starting to become a big fan of Anti-V puzzles :)
