The 6x6 white square
(Published on 5. February 2023, 21:20 by ademjaz)
After my 7x7 chaos construction puzzle (that you can play here), I kept exploring this type of puzzle and I came up with this one.
Here are the
rules:
- Fill the grid such that each row, column, and orthogonally-connected 6-cell region contains the digits 1-6 with no repeats. The regions must be determined by the solver.
- Clues outside the grid give the sum of the digits between the last cell in the first region and the first cell in the last region in the corresponding row/column.
If only one region occupies a row/column, then a clue outside that row/column would indicate the sum of the digits between the first and the last cell in that row/column (as that region will be simultaneously the first and last region).
- Palindrome: Digits on a grey line read the same forward and backward.
- Arrows: Digits on an arrow sum to the digit in the attached circle.

Solution code: Row 1

After failing a few days ago, I started a second attempt today. Luckily today I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the logic of the puzzle and was able to solve it. I really like the logic of the puzzle, thanks for the fun.

It's impressive how just a 6x6 could provide such a powerful logic, Thanks!
