Galactic Skirmish (Spiral Galaxy, Star Battle, Killer Sudoku)

Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Spiral Galaxy: The dots are the centers of rotationally symmetrical galaxies of orthogonally connected cells. Each cell in the grid belongs to exactly one of these galaxies. (Do not mistake a dot for a white Kropki!)
Star Battle: Each row, column, and 3x3 box contains exactly 2 stars in them, and every galaxy contains exactly 1 star. Stars can't be within a kings move (in chess) from each other.
Killer: Each galaxy with a small number clue in it, sums to the number indicated. Digits can't repeat within a galaxy, and star cells do not contribute to the totals shown.
Playable with F-Puzzles or CTC (SudokuPad).
Helpful hint: Keep an eye out for roping. ;)
Solution code: Row 3 followed by column 2 of the finished sudoku.

Great puzzle, hats off for combining the 3 parts so elegantly! I agree with comments below that the sudoku part was a lot more challenging than the rest.

I know the sudoku ended up harder than the other parts of the solve, but it ended up being hard to avoid, at least without adding more constraints to the grid. Very nice puzzle in 3 acts, impressive construction! The first two were rather easy while the last one was much trickier. Great fun, especially the fact I coloured (part of) the grid three times differently for each part, thanks to you both :)
