Campsite #4

(Published on 29. January 2023, 22:44 by PrimeWeasel)

Fill the campsite with 6 regions of 9 cells with 1 tent in them. A region can not have 2 tents. (Important!) A digit in a triangle or square shows the amount of other regions touching that cell, apart from the region it is in itself. I've included a picture showing a tent (and tent rows). This particular combination of triangle and square is the only possible orientation of a tent. The tent rows are needed for the solution code. I've also included a picture of a smaller grid with 3 regions. Notice that all regions have just 1 tent. The tent rows for this mini campsite would give a 4251 solution code, 4 purple and 2 yellow on tent row 1, 5 green and 1 yellow on tent row 2

Really nice how it unravels so easily with so few clues !

This is a really cool ruleset. I love how it makes use of the unconventional grid, and incoporates that as a part of the puzzle. The only other puzzles I've seen use a grid like this are just adapting normal puzzle genres to weird grids, but a puzzle designed for a weird grid is so much cooler.
Also, this puzzle itself was great; it's seriously impressive how it solves so nicely with so few clues.

~ Hey thanks for the solve and praise, glad you enjoyed it. I did make some more, but a lot of the logic is pretty much the same, and it didn't draw a huge amount of attention, but I might put them out at some point, need to re-test them first.

That was lovely! Very beautiful solve path for such a seemingly minimal design :)

I absolutely adore these! Hoping the next one is 5 stars somehow :)

I'm doing some easier ones first (although I had a 5 star made already, but there was one flaw unfortunately that couldn't be fixed so I had to go back to the tentdrawingboard), but I'm glad to see solvers enjoy them, you especially, thanks so much!
