Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply.
- There are no repeated digits on the main diagonals.
- Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of the digits placed before digit A in the respective row or column. Digit A is constant throughout the entire puzzle. It is part of solving to find the value of A.
- Clues outside the grid indicate too the sum of the digits between the 1 and 9 in that row/column.
- ? means that the A-Sum = Sandwich in that row.

I agree with Piatato. After completing the well chosen and lovely clues, I initially wondered why this is a 4 star puzzle. I found out as I realized that the diagonal part in the end definitely was way harder than the start. Nice puzzle though.

Nice puzzle! I wouldn't have minded another clue, though, as I found the x sudoku part in the end considerably harder and less entertaining than the variant logic earlier on. Lovely puzzle regardless!
