Manhattan
(Published on 21. January 2023, 21:47 by Jagga)
The first sudoku to feature a new constraint I came up with. Enjoy the puzzle!
Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply.
- Digits may not repeat in cages and must sum to the number in the top left.
- Digits on purple (renban) lines form a non-repeating set of consecutive digits in any order.
- A digit X on a red manhattan line gives the
exact manhattan distance X (shortest amount of orthogonal steps) to the
nearest other digit X. e.g. a 5 on a red line would say that the nearest 5 is 5 steps away. There can be multiple instances of the same digit nearest if they have the same (shortest) distance.

A lovely solve - the Manhattan rule took a bit of time to digest, but once done the whole puzzle unfolded beautifully
