Tetromino Sandwich

(Published on 4. January 2023, 04:04 by RockyRoer)

This is the latest in my "Sandwiches Without Givens" series. Other puzzles in the series are:

The Rules:

  1. Fill every row and column with the digits from 1 to 6, and two letters from the set T, O, I, L, or S. The letters in a row or column cannot repeat.
  2. Fill the grid with tetrominoes - four cell 'cages'. Within a tetromino, exactly one of the cells must contain the letter corresponding to the shape of the tetromino. The other three cells must contain numbers that do not repeat. Tetrominoes of the same shape may not touch orthogonally, but may touch diagonally.
  3. Number clues outside the grid represent the sum of the digits in the cells between the letters in any given row or column.
  4. Letter clues outside the grid must appear somewhere in that row or column.

What a brilliant ruleset AND execution!

Reply: thanks! You might be happy to know that a 10x10 pentomino version exists….

Very nice.

It's a Doppelblock variant, not a Sudoku variant.
