Sums next to 1 and 9
Inspiration for this type comes from LucyAudrin.

Apply classic sudoku rules.
Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of all direct neighbours of the 1 and the 9 in the corresponding row or column, in order of appearance.

or in CtC-app (thx RockyRoer)
Solution code: Row 5, followed by column 4.

Das du Pause machst, ist sehr schade. Deine Rätsel sind immer fordernd und inspirierend. Haben mir immer eine große Freude bereitet. Danke und hoffentlich bis bald.

I'm sorry to hear that there won't be any new SVS puzzles for a while, but I have about 180 older ones still to do, which will probably keep me busy until your return. Thanks for all of your puzzles, and enjoy your time off.

Thanks Richard! Hopefully your hiatus is short but thanks for all the puzzles so far, I will definitely wait in anticipation for the restart.

Thx for the kind words.
As I have written, I expect to be back with new variants later; this is a temporary last one.
It's just that I face a busy time with a few other things that are all more important than SVS. And if I do something, it's with full focus and attention. No worries, I'll be back! :-)

I too immediately thought TWO MORE!
Richard, your puzzles have been such an inspiration to me as a setter. I will miss waking up on Wednesdays to see what you came up with next. I will miss how you take every type of variant and make a smooth solve with lots of interesting logic that each variant provides. Congratulations on so many wonderful puzzles, and we wish you the best in your future plans!
