Welcome to Toronto

(Published on 28. December 2022, 06:30 by Mojo872)

Continuing a recent theme, here is a Sudoku based on the Toronto Subway! ("Tubedoku", based on the London Underground, may be found here).

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply. The four Subway lines have the following rules:

    - Line 1 (Yellow) - Equal Sums Line - values along the line must have an equal sum in each box it visits. If a line visits a box multiple times, each visit is counted separately.
    - Line 2 (Green) - German Whispers - adjacent values along the line must differ by 5 or more.
    - Line 3 (Blue) - Renban - the line must comprise a set of consecutive values, in any order.
    - Line 4 (Purple) - Useless and just for show, just like the real Sheppard-Yonge Subway :p
Line Numbers (in circles) show the ratio of two values, except Line 1 (unsurprisingly!), which represents a difference of 1.

In addition, the grid contains nine "doublers", one in each row, column and box, which form a set of the digits 1-9. Doublers may not be a knight's move or king's move away from each other, and each subway line must contain at least one doubler.

Doublers will double the value of the cell for ALL line/circle rules, without exception (e.g.: a doubled 6 (=12) may be adjacent to a 7 on a German Whisper line, and {4, 5, doubled 3 (=6), 7} is a valid Renban set.)

Views From The Six: finally, the completed puzzle must contain the three-digit area code "416" somewhere, read in a straight line going right, left, up or down.

Because it matters for box 5, do different visits to the same box count as different sums or part of the same sum for the Equal Sums Line?

~Yes it does - that is standard Equal Sums rule, but forgot to mention it, thanks for pointing it out! Making that change now. ~ Mojo872

A lot of fun to solve, like a treasure hunt, with flowing logic and some unexpected deductions - thanks :-)

Thank you for the kind words - I was pleasantly surprised myself that it had a decent flow, given I was trying to shoehorn in the theme so forcefully! ~Mojo872
