This is a Pentominoes puzzle
Rules:
Place the 12 Pentomino shapes in the grid such that there no repetitions of shapes and the shapes do no touch each other even diagonally. The pentomino shapes go into the white cells only. The black cells are out of bounds. The number clues outside the grid indicate how many cells in the row/column are occupied by the pentomino shapes.
Solve in Penpa+ Answer check enabled. Use surface tab to place the pentominoes.
Solution code: For row 5 and row 8, from left to right, enter U for unshaded cell, S for shaded cell occupied by pentomino and X for black cell. 12 letters for row 5 and 12 letters for row 8 making a total of 24 letters.

Very nice construction! The clues are well chosen to push and pull me just enough down the solve path.
