(Published on 13. December 2022, 09:42 by Mad-Tyas)

Rules:

Sudoku: Fill every row, column and 3x3 box with the digits 1-9.

Equalines: All lines of the same color have to be filled with digits that add up to the same total. These totals need to be determined by the solver (i.e. there are three totals to determine). Digits may repeat on a line if allowed by sudoku rules.

I kept wondering why I was breaking the puzzle, and 30 minutes in I realized this wasn’t one of your normal entropy puzzles lol. That being said, once I re-read the rules there was some really fun deductions between the different lines. Great logic as always!

Marvellous that a puzzle that looks so symmetrical at first blush still unravels without any given digits or additional, disambiguating clues/rules.

Very very beautiful puzzle with a purely logical (but challenging) solve-path. Perhaps I got lucky, but it didn't feel like 5/5 for difficulty to me. The solve-path is narrow enough that the solver will be forced to look at the next step soon enough. Either way, there are many many "aha!" moments in this puzzle that are worth no matter the difficulty :) Great job, @Mad-Tyas!

What a puzzle! I loved how it advanced drip by drip without giving itself away all at once. I love these puzzles you have to whittle away at! A delightful way to spend 2-and-a-bit hours and them feeling like 20 minutes. The interactions in row and column 3 were my favourite. Thank you Mad-Tyas!

-Reply: Thank you CookieWookie for this kind comment! I loved to read that you had such a nice experience with the puzzle :)
