Marble Madness

(Published on 5. December 2022, 06:19 by zegres)

This is my second Marble Run puzzle.
I am working on a few variations of this ruleset.
Meanwhile this has the same rules as the first puzzle and should be very approachable.
Thanks to BremSter for testing.

Marble Run Series.

  1. Marble Run (CTC Solve, Zetamath Solve)
  2. Marble Madness (CTC Solve, Bremster Solve)
  3. Marble Encoder (Rangsk Solve)
  4. Marble Temple

Note: Sven put a feature into SudokuPad that lets you see the marble go.
Use the pen tool to draw the path or the marble and put in some circles.
Then go to settings and click: "Start Marble Run".

Rules:

  • Normal Sudoku Rules Apply.
  • Find the path of the marble run (from R1C1 to the hole in R9C9).
The marble can only drop down or go sideways.
It cannot visit a cell more than once.
  • Digits in cages sum to the given total.
Cells on the marble's path do not contribute to the sum.
No digits can repeat in cages.
Any feedback is appreciated.

good fun. thanks. Maybe the marble can be combined with other constraints as well?

Reply: I am playing around with that idea. Hopefully something coming soon!

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to go through all cells of a cage, nullifying its sum completely or not. Or is this something that you have to find out using the rules?

Reply: No the marble cannot completely cover a non 0 cage.
