The two of us have been producing sort of "dueling puzzles" based on us implementing the same double-duty constraints for a while. This is our first full collab, where, after deciding on our dual-purpose constraints, we sent the puzzle back and forth, one clue at a time. We really like how this turned out, and hope you will to!
Normal Sudoku Rules Apply
Ninja constraint: Whisper Arrows
Whispers. Adjacent digits on a green line must vary by at least 5.
Arrows. Digits on the arrow must sum to the value in the bulb. Double-digit numbers in a bulb are read top-to-bottom.
Rat constraint: Diagonal X/Sandwich Sums
Diagonal Sandwiches. Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of digits sandwiched between the "1" and "9" found in the direction of the indicated diagonal.
Diagonal X-Sums. Clues outside the grid are also X-Sums, which indicate the sum of the first X digits seen along the indicated diagonal, where X is the first digit seen.
Solution code: Digits in Row 2 of the solution, followed by digits in Column 2 of the solution (18 digits, no spaces)

I used the fact that there can only be one 1 and one 9 on a diagonal. But is that really a rule? And could you clarify in the rules whether it is or not?

This was a very enjoyable puzzle. The pairs of constraints worked beautifully together. I did get somewhat stuck about halfway through and felt like I needed to do a bit of bifurcation/case analysis to progress. Once over that hump, however, it was smooth sailing :)

I love the way the doubled clues both interact with each other! Awesome dueling puzzle.

Lovely minimalistic looking grid, as every single clue is powerful! Enjoyable solve.
Thanks so much for your comment and the solve! Glad you enjoyed it! -rockratzero
