Normal sudoku rules apply. However there are 4 6x6 grids that make up this puzzle (cages help to separate the grids). Only the digits 1 to 6 are used in this puzzle. The grids have no relation to each other.

Normal two-color Japanese sums rules apply. Colors used in this puzzle are green and blue.

The clues outside the grid indicate the sums of the contiguous runs found in that row or column that must be shaded the color of the clue (No green clues are given and only one clue is blue). If a clue is red, then both colors must be present in the row or column. There must be an unshaded cell between runs of the same color, though there is no need between runs of differing colors. Contiguous runs that go between grids add up all the digits from both grids together.

For example, if 123456 was on the left and 123456 on the right and there was a shaded 456123, then the total outside would say 21 (even though it's a part of both grids).

Sehr schöne Variante, die wirklich mehr Löser verdient hätte. Man muss bis zum Ende sehr aufmerksam sein, um nicht noch im letzten Moment vor die Wand zu fahren.

This was my first japanese sums puzzle with twin colours. Very nice indeed, especially the logic in boxes 15 & 16. Thanks Panthera
