Projections (Killer Parity)
(Published on 12. November 2022, 08:00 by tallcat)
This puzzle was inspired by a Dumediat puzzle that I solved with Zetamath on his 100th stream a couple of weeks back (you can find that puzzle
here). Of course, I decided to add a twist of my own to it and while I think it turned out quite nicely, it did end up on the trickier side. Happy solving!
Normal sudoku rules apply
Killer: Digits in cages cannot repeat. All cages sum to the same total which must be deduced by the solver.
Projected Parity: Clues outside the grid give the parity of the sum of caged digits in the indicated row/column (E = even, O = odd)
Even: Cells with grey squares contain an even digit
Can be found at
f-puzzles or
CTC
Solution code: Row 2 (left to right) followed by column 8 (top to bottom). 18 digits, no spaces.

Really had to toil to work out this fantastic puzzle. Realizing the parity of R6C9 finally was the eureka moment for me. It unravelled after that.

Fantastic and quite a mind-boggling puzzle! Took me quite a long time to digest the ideas after determining the cages but it was a worthwhile experience :)
