Country Road Fillomino #2 (12x14)

(Published on 25. October 2022, 08:02 by Jesper)

Rules

Divide the grid into regions so that no two regions of the same size share an edge. Enter a number into each cell equal to the size of its region.

Further, draw a single closed loop that travels orthogonally through the center of cells, and visits each region exactly once. It may not branch or intersect itself.

Unvisited cells belonging to different regions may not be orthogonally adjacent.

The number in a cell with one or more arrows equals the combined number of cells in all indicated directions that are not visited by the loop (the clue cell itself is not counted).

Example (6x6):

Penpa+: Example puzzle (6x6)

The puzzle follows:

Penpa+: Country Road Fillomino #2 (12x14)

The solution check requires all edges or all numbers.

After being reminded of solving the first one and having people tell me this one was better I had to try it. Was well worth the couple hours it took :)

Absolutely incredible puzzle! The resolution at the end was a thing of beauty. There was a very tricky moment in the solve with the R9C56 clues, but then it was very satisfying once those Fillomino regions were disentangled.

Failed with #1 but luckily got this one.

Absolutely fantastic as usual! Liked this one way more than #1, and it felt more intuitive somehow too! Absolutely phenomenal work.

I was looking forward to the waterfall of 3's to finally come down. Amazing. Thanks.

Wow that was amazing! I agree with Vebby that resolving the latter half was incredibly fun. Thank you for this!

Incredibly good ! Solving this felt like taking a walk on the rim of a steep mountain. While you're contemplating the stunning logical scenery all around, there's always that dangling possibility that you might fall off the cliff and break the whole thing with just one wrong step... This is a very intense feeling that I tend to get with these huge fillominos that need to find their way around multiple obstacles. I wouldn't have thought that possible a few months back. So thanks again for providing such good rides !
