Lilypad Series #3 - Frankenstein's Monster
(Published on 20. October 2022, 17:18 by Mikemerin)
Part of the
Lilypad Series
Made for Halloween with the same Lilypad mechanic as the original puzzle, but better utilizing them being next to each other.
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Leapfrog: if a cell is next to (in any direction) a lilypad digit "N", continuing in that direction, any cell N away must also differ by N. Not all lilypads are given.
In the example below: if R3C1 is 4, since R3C2 (lilypad) is a 3, R3C4 can be either a 1 or a 7.
Example:
Solve in
Sudokupad or
f-puzzles
Solution code: Column 5 and row 6's lilypad digits (14 numbers total)

This took me 3 hours, but it never felt impossible, just like I hadn't yet spotted the next step. It was very fun and engaging all the way!
I struggled with the solution code before realizing it was supposed to be -all- the digits from column 5, and -then- just the lilypad digits from row 6.

It was a very nice puzzle with a nice original ruleset. I would change the solution code to 10 numbers (so that you only have to fill in the green circled digits in column 5 and row 6).
