Regional Skyscrapers Fillomino

(Published on 25. October 2022, 09:00 by Agent)

For this 2nd edition of Fillomino puzzles with geometric clues, I took inspiration from the fantastic Regional Skyscrapers Chaos Construction by MagnusJosefsson. In the puzzle below, numbers in the grid are simultaneously treated as the size of a Fillomino region and the height of a skyscraper. I think the logic is very different from the other Fillomino I published, and perhaps a bit more challenging. I hope you will enjoy!

Rules

  • Standard Fillomino rules apply. That is, divide the grid into regions and enter into each cell the size of its region. No two regions of the same size may share an edge.
  • Each region in the grid represents a building whose height equals its size. A number behind an arrow indicates the number of regions (excluding itself) seen in the indicated direction. Each seen region must be strictly larger than the clue's region, as well as every other region between the clue and itself. Not all arrows are necessarily given.
Some skyscrapers count examples

Beautiful puzzle, thanks. One of those for me where I overlook a possibility and become convinced that I've broken the puzzle.

Incredible! Some mindblowing deductions in this, and a super clear logical path. Great idea to only count regions with value > arrow cell, thus reducing disambiguation and enabling a minimalistic grid. Really great work setting this!
