Deconstructed Treasure Hunt

(Published on 7. October 2022, 22:34 by Will Power)

Normal Sudoku rules apply. ARROWS: Numbers on arrows sum to the number in that arrow's circle. Arrows are consecutive cells on the grid, connected either orthogonally or diagonally. Numbers may repeat on arrows, if other rules allow. There are 8 VIRTUAL arrows not shown in the grid, but have the 9's shown for their circles. The arrows TO the treasure have only 1s, 2s and 3s on them and have blue shaded tips. Numbers in the top left corner of the arrows' circles are the length of the arrow, if given. Once you have found the treasure, the arrows that show your escape route have only 4s and 5s on them and have pink shaded tips. Numbers with an X between them sum to 10. Numbers with a V between them sum to 5. Not all X and V are given. 8s ARE NEVER ORTHOGONALLY ADJACENT TO 9s.

I can't believe I done it. New ruleset for me

@zrbakhtiar Congratulations! Very nice. With only 4 solves, you have very few people to share the treasure with. 8-) -Will Power

I don't understand this. "The arrows TO the treasure have only 1s, 2s and 3s on them and have blue shaded tips. Numbers in the top left corner of the arrows' circles are the length of the arrow, if given. Once you have found the treasure, the arrows that show your escape route have only 4s and 5s on them and have pink shaded tips."

@zrbakhtiar Example of an arrow going TO the treasure: The 9 in the bottom row: Find a way, using four spaces, and only the numbers 1, 2, and 3 to make an arrow that sums to 9 and reaches a blue space next to a different 9. Since the 9 in the center box is next to the treasure, that means this 9 is your escape route to take the treasure AWAY after finding it. Find a way, using only numbers 4 and 5 to sum to 9 and reach a pink cell next to a different 9. The route away is easier than the route to, so maybe do that route first. If you need another hint, ask and I will use greater detail. -Will Power

I think I got the idea. Thank you so much for explaining
