Eternal Entropy

(Published on 28. September 2022, 12:15 by Mad-Tyas)

Only 14 cells on thermometers and the current final boss among the entropy sudokus is here.

If you find the logical path through this puzzle, I promise a journey full of wonderful discoveries.
But be warned. It is very easy to get lost in this grid.

You can find more Entropy sudokus as well as my other puzzles here

Rules:

Sudoku: Fill every row, column and 3x3 box with the digits 1-9.

Thermometer: Digits along a thermometer have to strictly increase from the bulb to the tip.

Entropy: The low digits (1, 2, 3), middle digits (4, 5, 6) and high digits (7, 8, 9) are defined as three different groups. In the finished grid each 2x2 box has to contain at least one digit of each group.

Have fun solving!

I really enjoy these entropy puzzles! This one felt a bit more bifurcatory than normal... Sometimes chains of reasoning are long and complex, and even tho commonalities can arise reasonably early in two competing conjectures, it can be hard to pick them out.
