Double Arrows Arrows
(Published on 24. September 2022, 10:09 by Samish)
Note : the difficulty of this puzzle is higher than I intended due to a particular step in the solve that is especially hard to see for some people. Please read the ruleset and examples carefully to understand everything correctly before attempting it.
AnalyticalNinja challenged me to set a puzzle using double arrows. After
my last puzzle which setting process had me sweating for several weeks, I wanted to make something easier both in the setting and solving experiences.
Here's what I came up with, it combines double arrows with standard arrows and it's an almost symmetrical problem.
Have fun solving, I'll be happy to read your comments! :-)
Rules :
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Digits along each line connecting two circles must sum to the sum of the digits in these circles (example : r7c6+r6c7=r7c8+r8c7+r8c8).
Digits along an arrow must sum to the digit in that arrow's circle.
To avoid any confusion : the lines in box 9 connecting three circles together act as three different lines connecting each pair of circles. See the example below for a valid way to fill a similar case.
Solution code: Column 9.

A very good introduction to double arrows for me! Even if, much like it happened with lockout lines, it took a bit of getting used to at the start, but thankfully you made the start really straightforward and ultimately intuitive, which helped with the next, much harder step
Really glad I got to solve this before our big project! ;-)

starts easy, but then it gets very tough with some unusual logic (very hard to spot for me)

Beautiful! With some tricky, but very rewarding moments. Pencil and paper was quite helpful at one point. Highly recommend!
