The Graveyard Of Shadows

(Published on 22. September 2022, 19:02 by fjam)

A shadow falls and the graveyard returns!

This is a follow up to my previous puzzle:
The Graveyard Of Ideas
  • Normal Sudoku rules apply.
  • In graves (cages), digits must sum to the day, month or year of the date on the grave. Digits cannot repeat within graves.
  • Escape the graveyard by carefully plotting an orthogonally connected path between the green and red cells. The path may not cross the highest or lowest digits in a grave.

So many clever ideas in one puzzle. Simply awesome thx.

Awesome follow-up ! I was really surprised by the way the opening worked here, definitely not what I expected at first. Also how the difficulty suddenly decreased for me in the midsolve. Eager to try the S-Cell one. Thanks :)

That was fun. Thanks, @ fjam :).
(By the way, the "yey" comes up even while the path is not fully drawn, so may be the solution code could be amended to reflect the path digits. Great fun, nevertheless.:))

This was such a great puzzle! Thank you for sharing! There is one really tough step, but aside from that it is very smooth and comparable in difficulty to the first :)

A graveyard full of killers is bound to be very very spooky

Spent WAAAY too much time calculating permutations, so assume I solved this by sheer willpower rather than skill

One tricky step, but I'm glad I got past it, because the rest was very rewarding.
Good puzzle. Thank you!

I have been trying to solve this for weeks until I finally got help with the late-stage break-in with the new CTC video. So I couldn't solve it completely on my own, but what a fantastic puzzle! Love the logic throughout and would love to see more like it.

This was a ton of fun! It was hard for me and took a few attempts to not break the puzzle, but it was worth it to keep trying. The graveyard path constraint adds for some really cool deductions throughout the entire puzzle

Lovely puzzle! Feel super smooth and satisfying throughout, and that ending was just cherry on top there x)

That was a very nice puzzle - my first with this kind of ruleset. The break-in was very neat but quite well-hidden (for a novice on these rules at least), and from there the solve flowed nicely.

What a beauty! The ruleset is fun and it's set with a really great precision making it a real pleasure to solve! Thanks :)

I had a lot of fun solving this! Very nice sequel!
