Music 1 : Musical Theory

(Published on 10. September 2022, 11:46 by Leodekri)

I project to create several puzzles with a musical subject. Here is the first. Of course, you do not nead to know anything to musical theory to solve it ! But if you do, perhaps you’ll have more pleasure

The 2 diagonals in colour figure 2 scales (7 digits only : on a scale, the 8th note is the same as the first)
The 24 numbers figure the 24 tones

The black and white dots can figure half notes and quarter notes ; ratios , too, figure the reality of acoustics !!! (note that sound an octava higher than another, has a double frequency)

And here are the RULES
Normal Sudoku rules apply. Also normal Killer cage rules, Little Killer, Kropki*

In the two coloured scales, the digits must follow each other, but you have to find if they increase or decrease (and, of course, find the first digit)
The two « X dots » are classical difference dots, X (between 1 and 8…) must be find by the solver
You have to put , in a diagonal, the date of creation of the Rite of Spring (Stravinsky)
(Let’s go, I’ll give you, it’s 1913 ;-) )

* (Regular rules) Digits in cages must sum to the number given at the top left corner of the cage. Digits may not repeat within a cage.
Clues outside the grid give the sum of the digits along the indicated diagonal.
Kropki dots: Digits in two cells separated by a white dot must be consecutive. Digits in two cells separated by a black dot must have a ratio of 1:2. Not all possible dots are given.
