Jack's Different Differences

(Published on 31. August 2022, 10:45 by britboy3456)

Different Differences

Normal sudoku rules apply.

All adjacent cells within a 3x3-block containing digits differing by n are marked. The value of n is different for all 3x3-blocks. There is no restriction on adjacent cells in different 3x3-blocks.

That is: in one box, all adjacent cells within the box differing by 1 are marked; in another box, all adjacent cells within the box differing by 2 are marked; etc, for all digits up to 9. Which box is which is to be determined.

Credit to Richard and Bram de Laat for inspiration.

nice one, loved the approach and the ruleset. It took me a while and some undoings but fortunately no restart.
