European Neighborhood

(Published on 27. August 2022, 06:17 by Will Power)

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Numbers on light green lines are at least 5 apart from their neighbors on the line. Numbers on a dark blue line are a set of non-repeating, consecutive numbers, in any order. Numbers on a gray square are even. Numbers on a gray circle are odd. Numbers with a V between them sum to 5. Numbers with an X between them sum to 10. Not all possible X and V are given. Numbers in cages sum to the number in the top left corner of the cage. NOTE: AFTER COMPLETING THE PUZZLE- color all cells red. Then, color all cells on green lines white, all cells on blue lines blue, all cells with squares yellow or orange, and all cells with circles black or gray. Welcome to the neighborhood. I apologize if I missed your country, but there are only 9 boxes, and Sudoku with the rule set made some countries more difficult to include than others. Peace to you.

One of your best puzzles, I think. Thanks! It took me way too many restarts though :-(

Got stuck with an ending that had no obvious resolve (last 16 or so cells all seemed to pair / triple up).

Hello @EyemaPlumm - I am sorry that you are stuck. Without seeing your position, I cannot help with what you need. -Will Power

I wonder why there are two Netherlands? Is there a Luxembourg? Or is the simple color not enough?

@Mr.CHEN Luxembourg has a lighter blue on their flag. However, I would have received negative comments from the solvers if there were 2 different blues without different rules for each. Thank you for playing. -Will Power
