Half-Baked

(Published on 24. August 2022, 10:41 by tesseralis)

You've heard of doublers, negators, and maybe even double-or-nothing cells. Now here's... half-baked!

Rules

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Digits on a thermometer strictly increase from the bulb.

One cell in each row, column, and box is "half-baked" and counts as half its value for the purposes of ordering on thermos. For example, 2(5)3 is a valid thermo order when 5 is half-baked.

Each of the digits 1-9 is half-baked exactly once.

Solution code: Row 1 followed by Row 8

Tasty half baked puzzle ! Crusty at the beginning, smoothy in the heart ! Loved the logic with the 2 first thermos. Clean design too. Thanks :)

Not half-baked at all - this is up there with the best puzzles I've ever solved. Absolutely needs a feature from Simon on CTC.

Oh wow! Thank you for the kind words. Feel free to send it in as a recommendation if you so desire :) ~tess

Very clever and fun. I really like this branch of puzzles that Zetamath started--what I'm calling the "one-off" puzzles. This one might be my favorite.
--
haha, I think there are too many of them for it to be called a "one-off"! I'm glad I could contribute to the variant ^_^ ~tess

What a heck of puzzle. Jesus. It took me a while to understand the interactions, but after I got it, it became easier.

Beautiful puzzle.
