Die Kryptos - S05E02: Teilchenzoo
(Published on 1. September 2022, 20:22 by tuace)
Welcome to the Cryptos. A tuace in-house production.
In all puzzles of this series - except for the finale, where sometimes other rules may apply - each crypto letter represents a digit from 0 to 9, same cryptos the same digit, different ones different. In some episodes of the series, this range of values is restricted; this is pointed out separately, but only if absolutely necessary. If the cryptos represents a multi-digit number, the first crypto must not take the value 0.
The value assignment of the letters of this puzzle is needed for the
season finale. There the values can be entered in a table.
Teilchenzoo: Draw a continuous particle beam that runs along the edges of the cells or diagonally through the cells. At the grid points, the beam either goes straight or turns at right angles. At the marked points, the beam crosses and runs straight through the crossing in each case. Otherwise, the beam does not touch itself. At the points marked with an asterisk, the beam splits; this always occurs symmetrically in the direction of travel with an opening angle of 90°. The entry point and all exit points as well as all splitting and crossing points are already given. The clues on the left and at the top outside the grid indicate how many segments of the beam cross the corresponding line or column; the clues on the right and at the bottom indicate the number of turning points lying along the corresponding line.
An example can be found in the
2022 Championship Guide on page 29.
Solution code: The unspecified clues on the left and right, each from top to bottom (18 numbers).

(Working through S05) This was the first of this kind of puzzle that I've ever solved, and my goodness what a fun and beautiful puzzle it was. Thank you so much!
