Chaos Construction: Split Killers

- The digits 1 to 9 must appear once in every row, column, and region. Regions are to be determined by the solver, and must be a set of nine orthogonally connected cells.
- Numbers cannot repeat in a cage and must sum to the given total in the top left corner.
- -Each cage must belong to at least two regions, AND the sum from each region within a cage must be the same.
- Clues outside the grid give the sum of the first X digits in their respective row or column, where X is the digit nearest the clue.

Solution code: Row 4 followed by a "-", then Column 2 (insert "-" where a region border is located, not including edge of grid)

Great puzzle. But I got the "solved" yay on the CTC app even before the regions were completed. Also, the solution code (though it says "not including edge of grid) was not accepted until I placed a " -" after entering the row 4 digits and before entering the column 2 digits.

Glad you had fun with this one. I got on a chaos construction kick and this was something I had been meaning to try. This one does allow for sudoku to complete before regions, but that happens from time to time with these.
Also, the solution code does say : Row 4 followed by a "-", it's just kinda hidden in the description.

Great puzzles! But it's also very difficult...
But after I finished this puzzle last night, I didn't notice until today that there is another clue in the bottom right corner that I didn't use at all in the previous puzzle solving process...
This may answer why I feel that the difficulty of this question is greater than 4 stars...

Appreciate the solve and detailed feedback, but all the outside clues help push this along to the finish line. It's been a while since I've looked at this one, but I would imagine that excluding an outside clue may push the difficulty up a level or two..

You're very welcome and appreciate the feedback. BremSter created a CC Killer puzzle with a more simplified ruleset, which is where I got the idea for this one. But yeah, the ruleset creates the opportunity for some interesting logic.

I love chaos constructions. This one is very nice.
Agree with the previous comments but they could be easily resolved if you include in the solution code some symbol (usually "-") to indicate region borders in the given row/column

Yeah, this happens sometimes in Chaos Construction puzzles, but I do like the idea of putting -'s in the solution for when this is a possibility. Thanks for the feedback and the solve.
