Rules: Normal sudoku rules apply. Along gray lines, digits must read the same way forwards and backwards.

Cage ambiguity: The cages in the grid are either killer cages or look-and-say cages (or both). It is up to the solver to determine which cage is which. The definitions are below:

- Killer cages: Digits cannot repeat within a cage and must sum to the number in the top left corner of the cage.

- Look-and-Say cages: Digits CAN repeat in these cages. The number in the top left corner should be read as a look-and-say number and says which digits are in that cage. For example, if a look-and-say cage has the clue "12" then it means there is one 2 in the cage. If it has the clue "33" then it means there are three 3s in the cage.

Beautiful puzzle! I especially enjoyed the first half or so with some wild geometric observations :)

I must have missed a rule because the mid-to-late-solve was stuck like a wrench in the gears but I eventually got it! Really liked this puzzle. I might even try to set one (I'm a total rookie) partly because I have a punny name in mind already :)
.
.
Well done kjholt! I'm glad you got through it :)

Thank you for the clarification, djorr. When I tried the puzzle yesterday, I kept on running into contradictions. I was quite sure that it was a mistake on my behalf but just wanted to be certain the reason was not due to a misunderstanding.
Today I gave it a fresh shot, figured out my logical error and was able to solve it. I think the combination of palindromes and look-and-say cages is a great idea. Thank you for the enjoyable puzzle!

Well done! Thanks for giving it a second shot :)

I have a question concerning the rule set. Does a 12 clue in a look-and-say cage mean that there is "at least one 2" or "exactly one 2" inside the cage?
.
.
Hey sujoyku! The rules say "one 2" and that means "exactly one 2".

Very fun puzzle! The interactions between the palindromes and the cages were very clever.

Thanks wooferzfg! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
