Sagitta (Anti-XV Arrow Sudoku)

(Published on 1. August 2022, 17:06 by Phistomefel)

This puzzle combines an Arrow Sudoku with a negative XV constraint.

Rules:
  1. Fill the grid with the numbers from 1 to 9 so that in each row, column, and 3x3 block, each digit occurs exactly once.
  2. The digits on an arrow sum up to the number in the associated circle. Along an arrow digits may repeat, as long as it does not violate any other rules.
  3. Orthogonally adjacent cells must not add up to 5 or 10.
The puzzle is also avaialable online via CTC-App (recommended) and F-Puzzles. Have fun solving!

Very enjoyable and fascinating puzzle. I’ve described my ‘quick-ish non bifurcative’ break-in using letters in a comment (nr 387?) to Simon’s CTC streaming of this puzzle, https://youtu.be/naW99FoEXc8.

This one was quite hard, but after some careful deductions, I was able to get through it. Wonderful puzzle indeed.

Thank you very much for the feedback, everyone! I can see now roughly, where the problems with this puzzle are.

Goodness me, that break-in (or entire opening sequence) was nasty and quite intricate. I had to use a better way to work out my logical thoughts after 25 mins, really liked how the negative XV worked wonder in this one ;)

Echo @ragna’s opinion :-)

Surely Simon will solve this puzzle without bifurcations...
I not!
How ever, I got it and is was fun! Thank you. :-))

Beautiful break-in!

That break in was hard but cool. Had to do it one more time after solving it to fully understand it :-) Amazing that it solves with just the negative xv after that!
