Kurotto Killer Sudoku

(Published on 29. July 2022, 04:21 by KNT)

Place the numbers from 1 to 9 exactly once in every row, column, and box.

Some cells in the grid must be shaded. A number in a colored cell indicates the total count of shaded cells in orthogonally connected groups sharing an edge with that cell. Colored cells are not shaded.

No number may repeat in any orthgonally connected group of shaded or unshaded cells, and a cell with a number in its top left corner indicates the sum of the numbers in its orthogonally connected group. A group may contain any number of clues, possibly zero.

A 1-6 example with a given number is provided:

High 5 for me (in both senses)! I found this brutal, but I perservered for the intricate and clever logic.

Phew ! That one was quite challenging all the way through ! I was worried I might have broken it in the end because it seemed I had a shading disambiguation problem. And then the revelation came, and it was a perfect ending ! Thanks +++ again !!
