The Grand Design (Numbered Room combo)

(Published on 27. July 2022, 05:54 by Playmaker6174)

The following puzzle is my next attempt of setting puzzle with variant[s] interacting with Numbered Room clues. After my previous attempt with arrows, I want to look at how Numbered Room would work with German Whisper line (which I still don't fully understand how it was named that).

Many many hours passed by and I felt like pure whisper version is too hard so I gave up on the idea... only until I realized that renban also exists. Combo whisper + renban has been quite a familiar trend to puzzle setters so at that point I didn't expect much to see the surprise that this brings up to me. The next following day, I was making an experimental puzzle with this combo and it actually worked out pretty well, I guessed, but I still felt like it's missing something satisfactory. Back to the drawing board (again), I realized another way to work out from the opening so that gave me an idea to exploit the structure and eventually after just more than an hour, I finally got another puzzle that appeared to be much more better and consistently balanced than the experimental one.

I actually want to share here earlier than usual because after this one, I'd like to revisit bunch of old puzzles that I missed on the site in these next days, man did I miss so many of them. Anyway, difficulty should lie in the range 3.5 - 4, I hope you enjoy! (Also I'll link the experimental version in the hidden comment as the bonus proof, which has a harder opening sequence)
Rules:

- Normal Sudoku rules apply for the 9x9 grid: every row, column and 3x3 box contains digits from 1 to 9 each once.

- Along a green line, adjacent digits must have difference of at least 5. Along a red line, digits cannot repeat and they must form a set of consecutive digits in any order.

- All of the cells outside the grid that interact with the lines are all numbered room clues (so they also contain a digit from 1-9). A digit in a numbered room cell has to be placed in the Nth cell in the corresponding direction of that row/column, where N is the digit placed in the first cell.
For example, if R5C1 is a 4 and R5C0 (on the left) is 7 then R5C4 must be a 7.
To clarify more, there's a 2 cells red line on top of box 1 - R01C1. It's obvious to note that outside numbered room cells don't follow the standard sudoku rules.

That was great fun, notwithstanding the "bobbins" notice on the CTC app! Thanks for setting and sharing, @ Playmaker6174 :).
