Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply.
- Numbered Walls : Outside clues are standard X, V, white Kropki or black Kropki clues. The digit closest to the clue indexes at which cell border the clued constraint lives, counted from that direction. A ? can be any of the 4 clue types.
For illustration, here is a quick example:
Clarifications about the constraint:
- The edge of the grid cannot contain constraints, and also is not counted for indexing purposes. Therefore, a 9 cannot appear as the indexing digit of any clue.
- Two opposing clues can be indexing the same cell border, regardless of if they are the same constraint or not, as long as two digits exist that can satisfy both constraints. Example: 2 and 3 can have both a V and a white dot in the cell border between them.
- There are no negative constraints of any kind.
And now for the main puzzle:
You can solve the puzzle in Penpa+. Answer check is enabled for the correct placement of digits. Or you can solve in either F-Puzzles or in CTC Software.
A solving tip: I strongly recommend filling in the constraints into the grid as you determine where constraints lie. In order to do this, you can enable "Draw on Edges" option in Penpa+, and use Number mode to put X/V between cells, or use Shape mode and put XS sized white/black circles to indicate kropki clues. This shouldn't have an effect on answer check triggering. Enjoy!
Solution code: Row 5 followed by Row 6 (No commas or spaces, 18 digits)

Oh boy what a good one! Very smooth and very fun fresh logic. Nice constraint with an equally as good puzzle! :)
When looking at the puzzle image I thought the rules would be slightly different, where the reference cell would still point to a cell (not a border) and that these two cells would satisfy the predicate on the outside of the grid. I wonder if that would result in nice logic as well.

Such a nice puzzle but the CTC link is missing the 8 clue. I ended up wasting more than hour staring at the puzzle without the clue trying to find a solution and was about to give up when i saw original puzzle has an 8.
~Ah, I am so sorry! I got the links from Manushand, and although I took a quick glance to see if the symbols outside were working nicely, I overlooked the given 8. I am sorry for wasting an hour of your time. And I am glad that you still persevered and enjoyed the puzzle!
